Our Process
One Geometry. Two Perspectives.
Every SAVARONA artwork begins with a single geometry and evolves into two distinct expressions.
In the Multicolor interpretation, individually cut plywood layers bring together different wood species, grains, and tones to create contrast, depth, and movement.
The Monochrome interpretation emerges from the corresponding pieces created through the same cutting process. Reassembled layer by layer, they reveal the same geometry through continuity, subtle tonal shifts, and the natural character of the wood.
Made by Nature. Composed by Hand.
Wood is never completely uniform. Grain, tone, and texture vary naturally from sheet to sheet, and we make these differences part of the composition rather than trying to eliminate them.
As a result, no two SAVARONA pieces will ever be exactly alike. Each remains true to its original geometry while carrying its own natural character.
Precision in Every Layer.
Every element is individually prepared, aligned, and assembled with close attention to proportion, contrast, and visual balance. The wood is finished to enhance its natural grain and tonal character, then protected with a durable semi-gloss water-based finish.
Making More From Every Sheet.
Our process naturally produces complementary forms, and we design with this relationship in mind. Cutting layouts are carefully planned, and usable pieces and offcuts are retained wherever possible for future works, prototypes, and smaller creations.
Our aim is simple: to make thoughtful use of the material rather than treating what remains as waste.
